LHS CLASS OF 1960-1970 BEACH REUNION—2024

The Lincolnton High School Classes of 1960-1970 Reunion Committee is proud to announce that an LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund, a 501(C)(3) non-profit LLC has been established. The Committee agreed that this act would be a great addition to help give back to LHS for providing us the most memorable years and experiences of our life.

A Committee for the LHS Scholarship Fund, LLC was formed and includes Linda Harrill Rudisill (1960), Sue Long Zimtbaum (1970), Jennifer Huskey (1990), Wayne Hoyle (1976), and Tommy Huskey (1970). The initial goal was to provide two $1,000.00 scholarships to two LHS seniors with parents, grandparents or guardians who attended LHS.

We are so proud to announce our first year winners.

The first recipient plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and major in Business. In her personal essay she stated that because of Covid, their class was the pioneers of the new age of learning. That statement rings so true. She is the granddaughter of Tommy Harrill (1972).

Congratulations to Sydney Hoops.

The second recipient plans to attend Lenior-Rhyne University and become a nurse. His goal is to return to Lincolnton to work so he can give back to the community. His dream is for his children to be third-generation LHS alumni. He is the son of Kathie Alfaro Rodriguez (1995).

Congratulations to Brysen Rodriguez.

The plan is to continue the Scholarship program with the possibility to provide more than two scholarships or give two in a larger amount. However, we need your help to accomplish these goals.

If you would like to make a donation, you can make a check to LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund and mail it to Tommy Huskey at 405 N. Poplar Street Lincolnton, NC 28092 or pay by Zelle to the LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund with the password 9804290776. All donations are tax deductible, and you will receive the necessary information for filing your taxes.

The money for the Keg in the Silent Auction this year (2024) will go to the Scholarship Fund and be tax deductible.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give to a future LHS alumni.
