LHS 60 to 70 Class Reunion would like to congratulate Tommy Huskey, our Committee Chair, for being honored with the “Key to the City.” Mayor Ed Hatley presented Tommy the award Thursday morning at the January meeting of Lincolnton’s Downtown Development Association. Also on hand was City Manager Ritchie Haynes. The Mayor recognized Tommy for his years of service and dedication to the betterment of the City of Lincolnton. The award was only the second given by the Mayor during his 10 years serving Lincolnton. Congratulations, Tommy!!!!
Congratulations to 1962 Classmate Tommy Houser for 50 years of service with the Lincoln Soil And Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

LHS 1960-1970 Committee News-2025
The Lincolnton High School Classes of 1960-1970 Reunion Committee is proud to announce that the LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund, a 501(C)(3) non-profit LLC has been continued for 2025. . The Committee agreed that this act would be a great addition to help give back to LHS for providing us the most memorable years and experiences of our life.
Scholarship Applications are available at the Guidance Counselor's office at LHS for the 2025 awards.
A Committee for the LHS Scholarship Fund, LLC was formed and includes Linda Harrill Rudisill (1960), Sue Long Zimtbaum (1970), Jennifer Huskey (1990), Wayne Hoyle (1976), and Tommy Huskey (1970). The initial goal was to provide two $1,000.00 scholarships to two LHS seniors with parents, grandparents or guardians who attended LHS.
THE PLAN IS TO CONTINUE THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WITH THE POSSIBILITY TO PROVIDE MORE THAN TWO SCHOLARSHIPS OR GIVE TWO IN A LARGER AMOUNT. HOWEVER, WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS.
If you would like to make a donation, you can make a check to LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund and mail it to Tommy Huskey at 405 N. Poplar Street Lincolnton, NC 28092 or pay by Zelle to the LHS Alumni Scholarship Fund with the password 9804290776. All donations are tax deductible, and you will receive the necessary information for filing your taxes.

We are so proud to announce our first year winners.
The first recipient plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and major in Business. In her personal essay she stated that because of Covid, their class was the pioneers of the new age of learning. That statement rings so true. She is the granddaughter of Tommy Harrill (1972).
Congratulations to Sydney Hoops.
The second recipient plans to attend Lenior-Rhyne University and become a nurse. His goal is to return to Lincolnton to work so he can give back to the community. His dream is for his children to be third-generation LHS alumni. He is the son of Kathie Alfaro Rodriguez (1995).

Our Committee Member Linda Harrill-Rudisill was a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine in November 2023.
The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is an honor granted by the State of North Carolina to individuals who have shown extraordinary service to the state. It is the highest award for state service granted by the Office of the Governor. Nominations can be made for individuals with 30 years or more of service to the State of North Carolina. A request for the award must be submitted by a human resources officer for state employees. Non-state employees are also eligible for the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. To nominate a non-state employee three letters of recommendation are required.
