LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Mr. Larry Duwayne Dellinger, age 71, of 615 N. Laurel Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Rosa Parks officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Dellinger was born November 28, 1943, in Lincoln County, to the late Jacob and Ruth Seagle Dellinger. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Alexa McNeil Dellinger. He served in the United States Navy and then later was a production manager for the Lincoln Times-News and the co-founder of the Lincoln Herald.

He is survived by two sons, Ramsey Dellinger of Hickory and Jacob “Jay” Dellinger of Lincolnton; a brother, Dennis Dellinger of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Jasmine Dellinger, Tanner, Garon, and Jayna Dellinger; and his loving companion, Nancy Cable of Lincolnton.
