Philip Wayne Thomas, age 76, of Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in the South River Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Chapman officiating.
Mr. Thomas was born October 30, 1948, in Forsyth County, to the late Ralph G. Thomas and Louise Joyce Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Carolyn Thomas; sister, Joyce Shook; and brother-in-law, David Shook. He served in the United States Marines and worked for the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
He is survived by a son, Larry Chapman; daughter, Donna Dellinger; and granddaughters, Rebekah Chapman, Lilly Pearson, and Mary Dellinger.

Phil was such a level-headed, nice guy. We played football together, and I had all the respect in the world for him. So sorry to see he has passed away.
