Joyce Elaine Hager Carpenter Manera, age 81 of Rock Hill formerly of Lincolnton passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Piedmont Medical Center of Rock Hill. She was born September 7, 1943 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Coley and Gladys Goodson Hager. She graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1961 where she played basketball and averaged 23 points per game with a career high of 33 points in a game. She worked in the banking industry for over 40 years. In addition to her parents, her sister, Bonita Warren and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Laney and Gary Warren preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory: Husband: Domenico Manera, Sr. of the home Son: Eric Todd Carpenter of Lincolnton Step-Son: Domenico Manera, Jr. and wife, Melanie of York, SC 2 Step-Daughters: Barbara Manera of Rock Hill; Lisa Kagen and husband, Scott of Belmont Brother: Terry Hager and wife, Peggy of Maiden Sister: Daphine Laney of Maiden ,Grand Dog: Hank. The funeral service will be held, Friday, February 7, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Ivey Memorial Methodist Church in Maiden with Rev. Donald Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 – 3:45 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association: act.alz.org
